Conam Privacy Policy Last updated: 5 Sep 2025
1) Overview
Conam is designed to minimize data collection. Messages are ephemeral by default, stored in RAM for at most 24 hours, and deleted after 12 hours of inactivity.
2) What We Collect
- Messages: Ephemeral, stored in RAM only; groups may persist up to 10 MB per group.
- Calls: Peer-to-peer (WebRTC) via a public PeerServer; no recordings or call logs kept by us.
- Technical data: IP addresses, browser info, and related metadata are processed internally for networking, security, and moderation (e.g., bans, abuse prevention).
3) How We Use Data
- To deliver the chat and call service.
- To prevent abuse (e.g., spam, harassment, illegal activity).
- To maintain service stability and security.
4) Data Retention
- Direct chats: Deleted after 24h or 12h inactivity.
- Groups: Persistent up to 10 MB; older messages may be removed when limits are reached.
- IP/ban data: Retained only as long as needed to prevent abuse.
- Calls: No retention (traffic flows directly between peers).
5) Sharing
We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers. We may disclose limited information if legally required (e.g., court order under the laws of South Africa).
6) Your Choices
Because Conam is anonymous and ephemeral, there are no accounts to manage. To remove your data, simply stop using the service—messages expire automatically.
7) Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Continued use of the service means you accept the changes.
